Interim Deputy Headteacher

Our thriving independent prep school in London is seeking an experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team for the remainder of the academic year.

This interim role would suit an accomplished teaching and learning expert with a strong track record in school leadership and ISI inspection preparation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Headteacher, leading on academic standards, and ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support teaching staff in maintaining outstanding classroom practice.

  • Oversee curriculum development and assessment.

  • Support preparation and follow-up for ISI inspection requirements.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and whole-school improvement.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and forward-thinking school culture.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience within the independent prep sector.

  • Deep understanding of effective pedagogy and curriculum design.

  • Experience with ISI inspections (either leading or supporting).

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Availability to work 3–5 days per week until the end of the current academic year.
